Current TRUSTED work in progress
The latest stages being developed are intended to address a number of key operational issues and problems, which are considered a priority.
For example, the development of an effective CCTV equipment classification, supported by a Manufacturers 'Product' compliance Mark, to help Specifiers and End Users easily identify appropriate equipment for their needs.
About the TRUSTED CCTV Improvement Project:-
Originally launched back in 2007, the concept of improving video surveillance performance, is based squarely on the idea of achieving effective "Target Recognition Using Surveillance Technology for Evidence and Detection", hence the acronym TRUSTED©
Initial work was directed towards developing an appropriate technical evaluation for CCTV cameras, to allow individuals to make an accurate 'self assessment' of a specific cameras efficiency in a number of key areas, and consequently highlight performance issues more easily. In addition, the VIPER (Video Image Performance Evaluation Report) service was developed to provide an independent assessment of camera set-up, and technical suitability within a range of defined operational objectives.
Whilst the existing documents are currently being updated, a number of additional stages are also being progressed, including ...
• A detailed product Classification System for a broad range of CCTV and IP Video equipment,
• TRUSTED© 'Product' Compliance Marks, for use on equipment at the point of manufacture,
• TRUSTED© 'Application Profiles' providing details on how to determine the most appropriate CCTV solution for a particular situation,
• TRUSTED© 'Performance' Mark (evaluation and compliance certification) for operational Video Record systems,
• TRUSTED© evaluations and performance completion Certification for installed CCTV equipment, and
• TRUSTED© CCTV 'Notification' Marks and Signage to help clearly define operational objectives, in a more open and transparent way.
Latest Information:-
